The Vault

Weight you can see.

Every gold, silver, platinum, palladium and copper piece is sized from its own weight and metal, then dropped into a room you can shake, stack and inspect.2

The Vault after Stack: sample coins, rounds and bars arranged in neat stacks and rows. Generic finishes, no photographs.

Real weight

Pieces are sized by metal density and weight: gold 19.3, silver 10.5, platinum 21.45, palladium 12.0 and copper 8.96 g/cm³, so a gold coin is smaller than a silver coin of the same weight. Sizes are scaled to fit the room, so small pieces stay tappable and big bars never swamp it.

Your photos on the coin

Turn on Show Photos and the picture you attached becomes the front and back of that piece.

Tap, shake, stack

Tap a piece to inspect. Shake to tumble. Double-tap empty space to stack.

Hide Values

Turn on Hide Values and the Vault is concealed with the rest of your numbers.

Keep the record

Every piece. Its own story.

Record the weight, purity, purchase cost and quantity of every coin, bar and round, and keep your own photo and graded-coin details with the holding.3

What's a lot?

Each purchase lot is its own record. Buying the same coin on two occasions creates two lots, so your costs stay distinct. Fully sold history does not count toward the Free limit.

Graded coins

Record grade, grading service and certificate number, and open NGC's official certificate checker from the record. NGC performs the check.4

Catalogue and currencies

Pick from a built-in catalogue of 442 common bullion products, most with a published specification and its source, and show values in any of 156 display currencies.

Put value in perspective

Know the metal. See the numbers.

Periodically refreshed spot quotes estimate the melt value of what you hold, next to what you paid.5

Melt math

Spot per troy ounce × pure weight, per holding and for the whole stack.

Cost and change

See change versus purchase cost and your average premium on the dashboard.

Price history

Spot history shows past quotes per troy ounce for all five metals in your chosen currency, converted at each day's exchange rate where available, and the dashboard's portfolio line reprices today's holdings at them.6 Longer ranges are included in Pro.

Quotes

Quotes can be delayed; the dashboard shows when they were fetched.

Phone dashboard with demo portfolio value, change versus purchase cost, average premium and current spot prices.
Spot History screen with the 1M range selected: a month of gold quotes in USD per troy ounce.

Private by design

Your ledger. Your choice.

No account to start: your records live in an encrypted database on your device and leave it only if you choose cloud features or export them.

On your device

Holdings and local photos stay on your device unless you choose cloud features or export them. CSV and JSON record exports are free.

Encrypted at rest

On your device, your portfolio is stored in a database encrypted at rest with SQLCipher (AES-256).

App lock

Add an app lock with a PIN or biometrics; it locks again immediately, or after one or five minutes.

Cloud is optional

Pro adds passphrase-encrypted sync and backups of your records. Account, billing and operational metadata are separate from the encrypted portfolio content. Turning Secure Sync off deletes its records, history and encrypted photos from MintMetric's servers for your account; your holdings and photos stay on every device, and existing cloud backups are kept and managed separately in Settings.

Security settings with the Require Authentication switch for the app lock.

Phone and tablet

At home on your phone. And your tablet.

For iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets.7

Good to know.

What happens if Pro ends?

Your existing local records and photos remain. Free limits apply to adding new lots and photos; history returns to the 1W and 1M ranges. Bulk import, Pro reports, new sync uploads and new cloud backups require an active subscription. Ending Pro does not immediately delete cloud backups: while they are retained, you can still sign in to the same account to download, restore or delete them, and restoring needs the Secure Sync passphrase used when the backup was made. They are kept for a grace period, then removed after an email warning; see the Privacy Policy.

Does MintMetric value rare or graded coins?

Melt estimates measure metal content using spot quotes. They do not appraise rarity, condition or collector premiums. Open NGC's official certificate checker. NGC performs the check.

Is my data sold or used for ads?

No. MintMetric contains no Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, attribution or advertising SDK, and performs no cross-app tracking. One optional first-party usage-analytics setting exists; it is off by default and never includes holdings, values or email. The third-party SDKs it does include (sign-in, in-app purchases, crash reporting and push notifications) are listed, with what each receives, in the Privacy Policy.

Can I cancel or delete my account?

Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate. Manage billing through your app store. Account deletion instructions explain the data controls; the Terms explain cancellation and refunds.

Notes

  1. 1 The hero, the first In short slide and the Vault chapter's card show the app's own Vault engine, rendered with sample pieces and generic finishes; their clips and stills are frames of seeded renders of that engine, with the drop staged into a pile. In the app, the Vault shows your own holdings. The other app screens on this page are simulator captures with demo holdings and illustrative prices; the clock shown is the simulator's fixed 09:41.
  2. 2 The 3D Vault uses a representative sample for large collections; ledger totals remain complete.
  3. 3 The coin photograph is the owner's own picture of a 2021 Austrian silver Philharmonic, shown as the app displays it in the Vault screens and in the holding record (In short and Keep the record). MintMetric is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Austrian Mint.
  4. 4 NGC performs the certificate check; opening it is free and not a Pro feature. NGC is a trademark of its owner; MintMetric is not affiliated with NGC.
  5. 5 Quotes can be delayed. Melt value excludes collector premiums, fees and taxes.
  6. 6 The dashboard's portfolio history reprices today's precious-metal holdings using earlier spot quotes and historical exchange rates for each day where available, otherwise current exchange rates. It is not your past balance or investment return. Copper is not included in it.
  7. 7 iPad and Android tablets use an adaptive two-pane layout on wide screens. The phone and tablet frames combine iPad and iPhone simulator captures with seeded renders of the app's native Vault engine, using demo holdings and generic finishes. Each moving scene and its settled fallback use the same render sequence.
  8. 8 No in-app photo-count limit; subject to device storage. Cloud records: up to 99 MB per backup (current limit shown in Settings), with up to five completed backups retained. Tax-lot reports cover USD holdings using US methods and are informational estimates, not tax advice.
  9. 9 US list prices. Your app store shows your localized recurring price before purchase, and subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your App Store or Google Play settings. Both plans include the same Pro features.
